PCB assembly

We assemble your prototype PCBs with SMT and/or THT components at very attractive prices for component counts of 1 or more.

We perform the preparation tasks for PCB assembly while we are producing your PCBs. Generate a convenient online price quotation and order PCB fabrication and assembly in a single operation for your prototype PCBs.

PCB assembly

Single or double-sided serial production-quality SMDs are assembled using a fully automated machine. Components must be at least size 0402 and have a contact spacing greater than 0.4 mm.







Through-Hole Technology (THT) components are soldered by hand or by a selective soldering machine.








This is followed by visual inspection.
We use only lead-free solder compliant with DIN 32513, ISO, EN 29454 and IPC 650.






The delivery time for the assembly of your printed circuit boards depends on the number of components to be assembled. Assembly will start on the day on which all the materials that are necessary (components, including the required surplus amounts, printed circuit boards, and stencil) have arrived. Besides the standard delivery time, we also offer an express service for an amount of up to 1,000 components. Please refer to the "Technical parameters" section below for detailed information on the delivery time.

Sum of the components = sum of the SMD and THT components x the number of printed circuit boards to
be assembled.

Please note: The time that we need to assemble the printed
circuit board is to be added to the production time of the
printed circuit board. Therefore, please order the
components required for assembly in good time.

Example:
Production of the printed circuit board in the 2WD service = two working days.
Assembly of the printed circuit board with 300 components = eight working days.
The working period for the production and assembly of the printed circuit board amounts to 10 working days in total.



Components

We process components supplied by you as well as components purchased for you. If you wish to assemble particular components yourself, this is not a problem - simply note this in the corresponding BOM for your project in the box "Place_YES/NO".










The components that you supply must be delivered in a dry condition (see IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020D; IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.1) and be adequately labelled.
Please use the component designations that are also entered on your bill of material (BOM).








For components to be ordered for you, we require suitable ordering information such as the supplier and order number. Please ensure that your components are delivered in the stipulated machine-compatible production packaging, otherwise we will be unable to accept them.
We are unable to accept distributors who wish to pay by credit card. Please include this information in the BOM in the designated fields.

We will bill you at the currently published price (without markup) of the manufacturer selected by you for the corresponding order quantity. You will receive a detailed list of the individual items, including prices, for your approval shortly before we place the order.


BOM - Bill of Materials


EAGLE:
In order to avoid errors and delays with the assembly, we need to receive the BOM file in a special format. For this reason we have put a ULP file at your disposal along with a database of the standard components which we have in stock.

If you are using the "Assembly variants" function in EAGLE, please note we require a separate order for each variation.

With the latest version of TARGET you will be able to place an order for a fully assembled PCB through Beta LAYOUT directly. A brief guide and instructions on how to create a layout diagram are provided here.

In order to prevent errors and delays in assembly, we require your BOM in a special format.

You should also check that the relevant component value (e.g. 1k, 100nF, etc.) is entered under "Comments" in the component properties section of your layout. Without this information we are unable to create a usable Pick&Place file from your layout.


In order to prevent errors and delays during assembly, we require your BOM, a Pick&Place file and a layout diagram in the correct format.

A brief guide with the appropriate demo files provides information on how to create these documents. You can see which components we currently have in stock in the current stock list (.xlsx). You can find all of the required documents here.

Please ensure that the Pick&Place data are saved and sent as a .txt file. This file should be created in the same format as our sample file. It is essential to provide all the coordinates in millimetres.

Note:

Assembly can start only after we have received all the necessary components.
When selecting your components, please pay attention to availability and delivery times.



We do not expect to lose a significant number of components, but to be safe we prefer to receive slightly more components than required so as to avoid any delays to delivery should any loss occur. Please send us 20% more (and a minimum of ten more) in the case of passive components of size 0603 or larger, and 100% more (and a minimum of 20 more) components of size 0402. The excess amount must be in the same section as the components that are actually required. In the case of active components, the excess amount depends on their type of housing and the unit price of the component. Ideally we would like to have at least one or two extra components.

All components must be supplied in moisture-proof and ESD compliant packaging. All unused components will be returned to you.

PCB dimensions: PCBs whose edges (one side) are ≤ 20 mm will be processed and delivered in an assembly panel (PCB holder) for reasons of quality assurance. There is no additional cost for this, and prices are inclusive of ridge milling.
If you wish to order PCBs in your own assembly panel, this panel will not be cut into separate sections.

Delivery time: Delivery time: Subsequent to the complete provision of the printed circuit boards and components, we offer you the following delivery times:
  • Orders with < 500 components: 12 working days standard, or 8 working days express service at an additional charge of 40%
  • Orders with 500 to 1,000 components: 14 working days standard, or 10 working days express service at an additional charge of 30%
  • Orders with >1,000 components: 16 working days standard, no express service

Tip: For technical reasons, the PCBs will be assembled on one panel. Identical PCBs that do not require assembly will therefore be delivered in the same panel.

If a component should not fit the planned footprint, or if it cannot be assembled for any other reason, please note that we will have to complete your assembly order without this component.
